The Pitch
Now I wasn't able to really make the first elevator pitch unfortunately, because of prioritizing other things in a not-so-efficient way. I did, however, make a point to avoid sitting too still. Since this is technically my first elevator pitch post, feedback is hugely appreciated and I'd be glad to do the same.

ReplyDeleteI really like this idea. I think it is a really strong idea that I totally see it working. This could really help auto shops as well so you would be helping that community. I can relate because over the summer my car was low in air and I wasn't sure what shop to take it to. This would have helped me out. If you can find the right people to help you make this then it would work out. Try having someone record you next time in the car so that you have full movement of your arms and you can focus on what to say. Also, I got a little distracted with the camera being diagonal to the steering wheel so maybe have the person record you from the passenger seat in the front

Cheyene, you have a really great idea. I would personally use the app and I think a lot of people would too. I do feel like a lot of places such as Advance Auto Parts might dislike your app and try to find ways to compete with your app. Other than the solid basis of your idea your presentation was well said. The one thing I think you should work on next time is try not to talk with your hands too much. It is distracting to the audience because they are focusing on your hands as opposed to your message. ReplyDeleteI think this is an idea that would help out a lot of people that don't know much about cars. I know that I personally wouldn't be able to detect what is wrong with my car so this is something that could greatly help to keep me informed when making decisions on how/where to get my car serviced. I like that you filmed this video from your car since it is a product that pertains to a car. I wonder who would fund this project so maybe next time you could explain a little bit more about that. Great idea overall!

ReplyDeleteI like your idea but it is one of those things that might already be out there. Have you looked into that? If there are others doing something similar, how will your idea stand apart? Also, an elevator pitch is supposed to be about pitching or selling your idea. Yours came across more as thinking out loud or brainstorming. When it comes to selling your concept, statistics or personal experience goes a long way. I suggest you re-watch the videos on how to make an elevator pitch and go over the PowerPoint that Dr. Pryor shared. Since this was your first crack at it, I am sure you can make it much better in the next go around.
